Keeping Your Eyes on Jesus Through Every Season

Today, my devotional calendar has this encouraging reminder:
“ May you know how deeply God desires to bless you – His love is unconditional, His promises are infallible, and the good things He has planned for you are unstoppable.”

I needed to see this today. As always, my week has been crazy busy, just the way I like it! But in addition to all the ‘normal’ events and tasks on my weekly calendar, I have been challenged with several tough happenings to people I love dearly. You know, the kind of stuff that always happens to other people. I was blessed to share both my love and the confident hope we have, which can only be found in Jesus, in those situations.

In addition to that, I have the opportunity to be a part of the lives of some of the most godly, anointed people I have ever known. Watching God work in and through the lives of His people is the absolute best seat in the house – short of sitting in heaven talking with Jesus! People who have been, and are being transformed by Jesus, demonstrating a love for, and a commitment and obedience to Him, and the guiding of the Holy Spirit in their lives. People who want to make a difference in the lives of other people.

As I read the words on the calendar this morning, I was struck by the fact that they were equally applicable to the folks going through difficult times, as well as to me – a reminder that even as flawed as I am, God can and will use my obedience to work in the lives of his people. This is true because in both cases we can stand on the foundational rock of Jesus Christ. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. We can trust Him because His promises are true.

What is going on in your life? Do you see challenges or opportunities? Are you looking at how big your problems are or trusting in how big your God is?

Praying for you … to keep your eyes on Jesus. Hebrews 12 says it this way …

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.

2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.

Love,

Debba
