Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8.26
I am in a difficult season. The people who love me, family and friends, and other ALS warriors are joining me on this journey, yet they have lives and needs of their own. I want to meet each of you where you are and prayerfully meet your needs. I believe God’s provision will supply the needs for all of us – in difficult seasons, and on the mountain top. But all too often I find myself looking in, instead of keeping my eyes on Jesus. Hebrews 12.1-4. It makes a difference – help remind me to look up!
That said, each of us needs to reach out to the Spirit for help in our weakness. The mission and vision the Lord has placed on all of us has not changed. The ALS community will only see the light of Jesus when we shine it, when we “meet them where they are” and offer to make a difference in their lives.
The burden for this community is strong. I am excited to have a Power wheelchair and a voice and to be back on the streets, walking and talking to people. The sweet smell of the Spirit is in the air, the sweet smell of spring, and the newness and revival that brings is in the air. Shake off the heaviness of winter, of pandemics; turn your face toward the sun (The SON) and let the light shine.
I woke up this morning with a song lyric in my head that would not go away: “Friday’s disappointment is Sunday’s empty tomb.” We know the tomb is empty, we know we serve a living Lord! It’s time to shout about it!
Join me in shouting Glooorrry .. Hallelujah … say it loud!
Love, Prayers, and Hope for Tomorrow.
